What is the Refurbished Program?

Our “Refurbished” Program allows pre-qualified eBay sellers exclusive use of three refurbished item conditions (Excellent - Refurbished, Very Good - Refurbished and Good - Refurbished) on their listings; including subtitles, product descriptions, and titles. This is in addition to the existing Certified Refurbished item condition. This program currently applies to selected categories, but will be expanding to new categories throughout 2022.



To qualify to list with the new item conditions, sellers must meet a strict set of requirements. eBay will review your inventory and account to ensure they meet the program requirements.

Requirements to list with the new item conditions

Item Requirements

All items listed with the above item conditions must:

  • Be fully functional and be inspected, cleaned and tested by the seller
  • Be shipped in new or original packaging
  • Include original or brand-new accessories
  • Adhere to the applicable item condition description and requirements (see below)   
  • Include a 1-year seller provided warranty which is consistent with or in addition to the consumer guarantees available under the Australian Consumer Law

Service Requirements

All items listed with the above item conditions must offer:

  • 0-1 day handling time
  • Free shipping, with an express shipping option
  • 30 day returns

Performance Requirements.

 

To be considered for listing with the above item conditions, sellers must meet the following performance metrics:

 

  • Buyer Feedback: >98.0%
  • Item Not As Described (INAD): <4.0%
  • Stockout rate: <5.0%
  • Late delivery rate: <8.0%
  • Item Not Received (INR): <1.5%
  • Cases closed without seller resolution: <0.3%
  • Return Rate: <10%

  • Be shipped in new or original packaging
  • Include original or brand-new accessories

*eBay may exempt sellers from one or more of the above requirements. Additional requirements, including contractual requirements, apply prior to final approval. Seller participation in the Refurbished Program is at eBay’s absolute discretion.

How it works

Once enrolled into the program sellers must accurately list items under 3 condition grades:

Excellent - Refurbished

  • All items are inspected, tested and cleaned by the eBay seller or a third party.
  • Appearance: Looks like new at first glance. No to minimal signs of use such as micro body scratches. No dents and no visible screen scratches. The Item may come in generic packaging with new or original accessories.
  • Functionality: Fully functional. Minimum 85% battery life.
  • Warranty: 1 year warranty provided by seller.

Very Good - Refurbished

  • All items are inspected, tested and cleaned by the eBay seller or a third party.  
  • Appearance: Some signs of use such as light body scratches. The item may come in generic packaging with new or original accessories.
  • Functionality: Fully functional. Minimum 80% battery life.
  • Warranty: 1 year warranty provided by seller.

Good - Refurbished

  • All items are inspected, tested and cleaned by the eBay seller or a third party.
  • Appearance: Moderate signs of use such as small scratches or dents that do not affect functionality. The item may come in generic packaging with new or original accessories.
  • Functionality: Fully functional. Minimum 80% battery life.
  • Warranty: 1 year warranty provided by seller.

Excellent - Refurbished

  • All items are inspected, tested and cleaned by the eBay seller or a third party.
  • Appearance: Looks like new at first glance. No to minimal signs of use such as micro body scratches. No dents and no visible screen scratches. The Item may come in generic packaging with new or original accessories.
  • Functionality: Fully functional. Minimum 85% battery life.
  • Warranty: 1 year warranty provided by seller.

Very Good - Refurbished

  • Appearance: Some signs of use such as light body scratches. The item may come in generic packaging with new or original accessories.

  • Warranty: 1 year warranty provided by seller.

Good - Refurbished

  • All items are inspected, tested and cleaned by the eBay seller or a third party.
  • Appearance: Moderate signs of use such as small scratches or dents that do not affect functionality. The item may come in generic packaging with new or original accessories.
  • Functionality: Fully functional. Minimum 80% battery life.
  • Warranty: 1 year warranty provided by seller.
