Postage rate tables are a useful way to vary your postage charges to locations throughout Australia. They also help buyers easily understand the total cost to purchase your item and have it delivered to them.
We know postage is one of the key fundamentals when it comes to selling online and with our postage rate tables, you’ll be able to charge buyers for postage costs more accurately and ensure you’re not left out of pocket when sending items interstate.
Postage rate tables allow you to specify variable postage costs for up to 100 different regions across Australia. The table allows buyers to easily understand the total cost to purchase your item and have it sent directly to them. You’ll even save time by reducing the number of buyer questions about postage costs.
In spring 2017, we launched our new and enhanced postage rate tables so you can provide even more accurate postage charges to buyers. They'll help buyers easily understand the total cost to purchase your item and have it delivered to them. We're also providing a template designed to help you prepare for postage rate tables. Review your postage costs and delivery times today.
Using postage rate tables is a requirement to participate for eBay’s Guaranteed Delivery program. Participating sellers in this program can benefit from higher visibility, increase in conversion, and possible inclusion in eBay’s marketing campaigns.
Before setting up your postage rate tables, we recommend you identify the different carriers and services you wish to use, as well as which regions you want to sell to. Have your carrier delivery time and costs for all of the regions you wish to sell to ready.
We've also created a postage rate table video. It's a great guide to help you get prepared and set up for postage rate tables - make sure you check it out, or simply follow the steps below.

You can set your shipping rates by item, weight or surcharge:
Remember, buyers will see the total postage costs only, not the additional costs.
If you chose the kg weight option, please note that the first weight break is set to 1kg, even if the actual weight of your item is lower.Select the service level you’d like to add, click on ‘Add regions’, and check the destination(s) you wish to add to your rate table.
How to set up your cut-off times:
While this step is not mandatory, it’s recommended you set up your cut-off times so we can provide more accurate delivery timeframes to your buyers.
To do so, go to ‘Account’ tab > ‘Site Preferences’ > 'Postage preferences' (click on ‘show’), and set ‘Order cut off time for same business day handling’ to ‘Yes’.
Check your working days and set the cut-off times.
Wherever possible, free postage is recommended - To offer free postage when using rate tables, enter $0 in the price field.
Postage rate tables give you control to enter your own postage rates that you received from your carriers.
