What's the change?

--Paragraph Start--
To help provide a consistent buying experience and enable a faster and more accurate listing process, eBay uses images provided by our sellers in our catalogue. eBay’s catalogue is made available to sellers for use in listings on eBay sites.

It also provides images that illustrate product browsing pages on eBay. Sellers will no longer be able to opt out of sharing their images with the catalogue, and all images that you make available to eBay will be considered for possible inclusion in the catalogue.

This change brings eBay in line with industry standards and the practices of similar marketplaces.

How do you benefit?

  • The eBay catalogue is a database of the millions of products sold on eBay. We’re constantly building on that data to make eBay a better marketplace for all. Many of the innovative ways we promote our sellers’ items, such as themed browse pages or product reviews, wouldn't be possible without our catalogue.
  • The catalogue can also help you list faster and more accurately by providing better guidance as you create your listings.
  • Gaining access to all sellers’ images brings us in line with industry standards, will help us do a better job of promoting your items across our sites and drive a better browsing experience for buyers which benefits everyone.
  • This change will be particularly beneficial for sellers of unique and one-off items on eBay. This means that we will be able to create product catalogue entries for handmade, unbranded and other unique items across our categories, and do a better job of promoting them with product reviews, browse pages and other experiences.
