Enhancing eBay Stores

--Paragraph Start--

Beginning in May 2018, we will start updating our eBay Stores to make sure we keep offering buyers with the best-in-class shopping experience.

To keep offering the best shopping experience, the newly designed experience will provide enhanced browser security, improved Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and mobile optimisation. It will also offer new merchandising placements to showcase your inventory.

The new eBay Store design will look similar to eBay’s homepage and other category pages. Below is an example of the new eBay Stores shopping experience:

What you Need to Do

--Paragraph Start--

There will be no action required for most sellers, we will update Stores automatically starting in May 2018. If you use custom pages or have HTML in your Store, you will be able to opt in at the same time or we will opt you into the new experience at a later date. Store subscribers will be moved to the new experience in three phases, detailed in the timeline below.

We recommend sellers move to the new experience as soon as possible since these new storefronts are 100% free of active content, comply with HTTPS requirements, deliver improved SEO traffic, and mobile web experience.

New Fees for Sellers That Fall Below Standards

--Paragraph Start--

To protect our buyers and the customer experience, sellers that fall Below Standards will incur an additional fee of 2% on Final Value Fees. Sellers who remain Above Standard or are Top Rated will not be affected by this change. More details on the new surcharge below:

  • Auction and Fixed price listing formats will be affected by this change
  • Standards will continue to be reviewed on the 20th of each month. Be sure to frequently check the resolution centre to ensure your standards are maintained.
  • For categories with a Final Value Fee cap, the surcharge will only impact these listings until the point at which the cap is reached. If the Final Value Fee and below standard surcharge exceed the cap, only the Final Value Fee cap will be charged.
